FM2 Laser Screed Flooring

Overview

Flooring Solutions Tailored for Modern Warehousing Demands

The exponential growth of e-commerce has dramatically transformed warehousing operations, placing concrete flooring at the forefront of operational efficiency in these facilities. Concrete’s renowned strength and longevity remain foundational, but today, precise flatness and levelness are critical to support the dynamic movement of Material Handling Equipment (MHE). “Free Movement” (FM) standards ensure MHE can navigate freely in any direction with unrestrained paths on the warehouse floor. Our Laser FM2 flooring solutions redefine warehouse performance by delivering exceptionally fast, flat, and durable surfaces engineered specifically for these operational needs. Utilizing cutting-edge laser screed technology, EFIL constructs FM2 floors with accuracy and uniformity unmatched in the industry. These floors comply rigorously with internationally recognized standards — including the UK’s TR34 (4th Edition), German DIN standards, and the ASTM protocols from the United States, guaranteeing superior flatness and structural reliability. The use of laser screed machines ensures reduced construction time, enhanced speed of deployment, and outstanding precision in floor flatness. These jointless, high-quality concrete slabs minimize maintenance demands, limit operational downtime, and maximize productivity within warehousing environments. We deliver a comprehensive suite of services tailored for every industrial and logistics flooring requirement.
Installation Methodology: Large-Area Laser Screed Pour with Jointing

For expansive floor areas ranging between 700 to 1,000 m², EFIL employs continuous laser screed pours followed by strategic saw-cut jointing the next day to mitigate drying shrinkage stresses. Floors are segmented into panels on a 4 to 6-meter grid, reinforced typically with a single mesh layer positioned 50mm above the slab’s base.

The installation process utilizes Somero USA’s advanced S-10A laser screed with a 6.1-meter telescopic boom and precision 3-meter auger head. This equipment efficiently lays between 900 to 1,000 m² of flooring daily. The finishing process incorporates imported precision flattening tools—including magnesium keyhole bump cutters, highway straightedges, power floats, and ride-on trowels—to ensure a flawless surface. Adjustable wooden shuttering combined with L-angle forms manage concrete slump within a ±20 mm window around 130 mm, guaranteeing consistent slab thickness and quality.
